Sturgeon Release Field Trip
Arrive: please arrive at Riverside Park for 1:00pm. We will proceed to Station 1 and then can stay at the event stay at the event as long as we wish. Our group will get 1 sturgeon to name and release. Like last year, we'll stand with the sturgeon for a photo opportunity at the event. There will be salmon fry for each person to release too! Field trip information: This is a facilitated 90 minute in-person field trip experience at the Britannia Shipyards in Steveston. In this program, students will: explore the Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site to learn about the history of boatbuilding and its importance in Steveston. explore the different steps to build a boat by participating in a tool scavenger hunt, a caulking demonstration, and more maritime-themed activities. Find out more »Fort St. James Historic Park Visit and Year End Picnic
Our group tour starts at 10am, so please plan to arrive by about 9:45am. The cost of the park visit is $7 per student, and $9 per adult. We get some free chaperones, depending on student numbers, so I'll try and factor that in somehow!
