The Magneto Amigos – Blended 9/10 Field Trip/Open House
DEFINITION:
magneto: (noun) a small generator that creates periodic pulses of alternating current in order to produce energy
Are you a grade 9 or 10 student who is not in a face-to-face program and who would like someone
– to periodically encourage you throughout this 2018 – 2019 school year,
– to jump start you when you are feeling behind or discouraged,
– to spark a feeling of support, or
– to fire you up when bored?
And are you willing to do the same for someone else?
Are you willing to regularly connect via email, snail mail, Skype, Google hangout, etc. after the initial meeting?
And finally, can you meet again with us sometime in December and then again in June?

The Grade 9/10 TLA BLENDED students welcome you to participate in this TLA-sponsored “field trip”, where each student will be pared with a Blended 9/10 student at the beginning of the year at the September 27 open house. There you will spend as much of the day with us as you are able, meet your match, get to know each other better, participate in all of the day’s learning activities, and work out how you will “produce periodic pulses of alternating current in order to produce energy”–an energy intended to inspire and support one another throughout the year.
Time: September 27, 2018 Open House (10:00 am to 2:30 pm)
