Adams River Salmon Run Field Trip – Kamloops/Shuswap/Okanagan Area

On FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28th at Tsútswecw Provincial Park (Roderick Haig-Brown), join JP Reimer, (local Home teacher), viewing and exploring the year’s salmon run as the fish make their way up from the Pacific to their spawning grounds in the Adams River and other tributaries, and take advantage of the many educational services available.

This trip is open to K – Grade 9 TLA students. Younger siblings accompanied by parents are welcome, too, as are non-TLA students. Families will need to get to the park on their own, however there may be some seats available with Mr. Reimer.

We’ll meet at 8:00 a.m. at Tim Horton’s at 490 Powwow Trail, Kamloops, BC, just off of Highway 5. PJ Reimer will meet you there – look for his white Dodge Ram. He has 4-5 extra seat belts and from there, you can caravan to the park. (If you would like to carpool with PJ, please indicate that on the form. First come, first serve.)

We expect to arrive at the park around 9:00 am. Bring a bag lunch and water, although there is also a concession available, and dress for the weather. Plans to depart for home around 1:00 pm.

Where: Tsútswecw Provincial Park (formerly known as Roderick Haig-Brown Provincial Park).
