IE | Inclusive Education

Inclusive Education (K–12)

Description
AvailabilityInclusive Education supports are available within all programs for students who qualify under BC Ministry of Education guidelines
Program IntegrationInclusive Education is not a separate program; supports are integrated within the student’s chosen learning model
Tuition StructureK–12 students on adapted or modified programs who are enrolled in the Home Learning program pay the Home Learning – Enhanced Resource Option ($150). Students taking Online or Blended programs or courses instead pay the appropriate K-9 or 10-12 tuition.
Funding StructureInclusive Education supports are funded separately from standard tuition and learning resource access
Supports May IncludeIndividualized programming, specialized learning resources, approved third-party educational services, and therapeutic supports related to documented learning needs
Planning ProcessSupports are planned and reviewed through the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process

Blended Learning Capacity and Inclusive Education (K–12)

Program StructureBlended programs include in-person instructional time and shared learning environments
Capacity ConsiderationsSpaces for students requiring Inclusive Education supports may be limited
Placement ProcessPlacement is determined through an intake and review process to ensure the school can safely and effectively meet each student’s needs
Alternative OptionsWhere a blended placement is not available, families will be supported in identifying alternative learning options.
