Sarah was born in Vancouver, and grew up on a hobby farm in Surrey with her 6 siblings who were all homeschooled. There she maintained a large menagerie from hamsters to horses, and ran a few small businesses including a horse riding school.
She went on to work with a renowned dressage coach, training horses and students and became the Riding Director for Intervarsity’s horse camp in Harrison Mills, BC.
She married Edward Hewlett, the tech guy, and moved to New York for three years, where she earned certification as a Birth Doula with Doulas of North America, and started her rewarding passion of helping mothers enjoy satisfying birth experiences.
While working on her Bachelors in Business Administration at Kwantlen University, she studied business and French culture in Paris for 6 months as well as backpacking around Europe with her 3 home-schooled children who were 11, 7, and 4 at the time.
Sarah has been a homeschooling mom and TLA parent for over 10 years, and is thrilled to be part of the TLA team.
