Grade 10-12 students are invited to join an adventurous day outdoors!
After a brief safety and paddling instruction, we will explore the southern islands of Say Nuth Khaw Yum (Indian Arm) by kayak. Along the way, our certified guides will share engaging stories, fascinating facts, and hands-on learning about the local environment, history, and geography.
We’ll break for lunch at Panorama Park adjacent to the kayak centre and then hike Quarry Rock for the rewarding view of the inlet. (The start of the hike is a a short walk from the kayak centre.)
Schedule:
9:40 AM • Arrive and store belongings
10:00 AM to 12:00 PM • Guided kayak tour with Deep Cove Kayak
12:00 to 12:30 PM • Eat lunch you brought from home
12:30 to 2:30 PM • Hike Quarry Rock (3.8 km round trip/100 m elevation gain)
2:30 PM • Pick up from Deep Cove Kayak
Please confirm your attendance by September 14. This event will run rain or shine so please dress for the weather. A specific list of what to bring and wear will be sent by email.
This opportunity is available to all Enrolled and Registered TLA Online students in Grade 10-12.
