In this introduction to the Age of Exploration, students will travel back in time to view the world of 1509 through the eyes of both Europeans and the Indigenous people of the Americas. Topics will include the development of sailing vessels and navigational tools. Students will work together to create a timeline of events to successfully navigate history and end by playing a game of chance to see if they survive an imaginary journey across the sea!
This class would be a great way to prepare for the on-site class/tour of the Vancouver Maritime Museum on May 28th.
