STEM Explore is a series of Science Exploration and Innovation class that will be held throughout the school year for grades 5 to 9. The goal is to encourage science and engineering exploration as well as to build up a science community at TLA, and perhaps enter a Science competition in the future.
This class will focus on Owl ecology and digestion, with an Owl Pellet dissection. The Owl pellets are from wild Barn Owls, and have been heat treated, foil wrapped , and then frozen to ensure that they are sterilized. Students will typically work in pairs on the dissection. Generally, this is a good first introduction to dissection techniques and safety.
