We will be having a 5 week STEM challenge. The cost for the group of classes is $20 per child. The first week we will meet as a group (one in FSJ, one in Vanderhoof), where we will work on a STEM challenge. All materials needed will be provided for our in-person challenge. Week 2-5 challenges will be completed at home using your own materials and we will meet online for your child to showcase their designs. We will also include a discussion time. If there are a large number of families interested, we will split the group into 2 online meetings. Meetings will run for approximately an hour.
The Challenges will be as follows:
Week 1: Build a Tower (Jan. 22 or 23)
Week 2: Balloon Rocket (Jan 27 – 31)
Week 3: Marble Maze (Feb 3-Feb 7)
Week 4: Paper Airplane Precision (Feb 10-Feb 14)
Week 5: Build a Bridge (Feb 17 – Feb 21)
Challenges and directions will be emailed out to the parent on the Monday each week. Students will work through the provided papers to create the challenge design. A list of materials needed for weeks 2-5 will be emailed out prior to all challenges beginning.
