This is a non-competitive opportunity for students to share their process and what they have learned with others.
Science projects generally fall into two categories:
a) Literature review: Students create a summary of existing knowledge about a topic and present what they have learned.
b) Experiments: Students doing an experiment should follow the scientific method of coming up with a topic, hypothesis, variables, method, and evaluating their results in a way that matches their topic and developmental ability.
Here is an article that gives more detail about the scientific method: https://www.khanacademy.org/science/biology/intro-to-biology/science-of-biology/a/the-science-of-biology
This website is a good resource if you need some help coming up with a topic! https://www.sciencebuddies.org/
*Limit of 10 projects per time slot.
*Sharing time is 2-5 mins per project, with extra time for questions.
*Students are welcome to do individual projects or work together with a sibling or peer.
*Accessibility: students are invited to present in a way that helps them to participate with low anxiety. In the past, students have shared by speaking, reading, pre-recording videos and screen sharing, having a parent read what they have written or repeat what they have said for clarity, creating posters/slideshows/artistic models.
