(This is the same content as taught in the Fall. If your child has already taken this class, please do not sign up again.)
“I can’t do this!” “This is too hard!” “I’m not good at math!” “I will never get this!” “It’s not good enough!” Are these phrases all too familiar in your home? Then this class might be a good fit for your child.
Using literature, The Beautiful Oops (by Barney Saltsberg), Sky Colour, Ish and The Dot (by Peter H. Reynolds) we will explore what makes your child unique, how their brains can grow and learn, how making mistakes is all a part of learning, positive thinking, being kind to ourselves and more. Together we will read literature, complete some art activities, share our achievements, discuss famous people who have found success through failure and look at some healthy habits for a growth mindset!
Each week I will send an email with activities to follow up with your child about growth mindset if you would like to explore the topics in more detail. You will also know in advance of materials that your child will need for the class (basic materials that you will likely already have around the house:)
