TLA’s Inclusive Education department is quickly reaching capacity for the 2025-26 school year. If your child requires an IEP you will be placed on a waitlist for the 2025-26 school year.  If a spot opens up you will be contacted by the TLA team.

Facilitated (online) by Mrs. Smid one day a week for four weeks.

Each week we will take a look at a famous painter and identify their unique style and approach to art. Then we will pick up our brushes and try it out ourselves. Each week your student will create a wonderful masterpiece.

We will study the life and works of Frida Kahlo, Vincent van Gogh, Canadian artist Maud Lewis and Canadian Indigenous artist Norval Morrisseau.

What you will need to bring to class PRIOR to our start time:

– an apron or smock

– a 9×12 canvas for each class (4 total)

– a blank notebook and pencil for sketching ideas and taking notes.

– paint brushes (from Michaels or other craft store, NOT the dollar store)

-paints (acrylic paints, not from the dollar store. Samples can be found here and here )

-paper towel/rags

-water jars

– On the day we study Frida, I will ask each student to have a photo of themselves for a self-portrait or a mirror.
