The Canadian School of Ballet returns to the Kelowna Community Theatre for their 35th year\, featuring their dancers accompanied by principal dancers from the New York City Ballet. \nThe Nutcracker story was written by E.T.A. Hoffmann\, set to music by Tchaikovsky and originally choreographed by Marius Petipa. With non-stop dancing and magnificent sets and costumes\, The Nutcracker is an unforgettable tribute to the imagination. \nThe Nutcracker Story: A Family Favourite Christmas Tradition \nIt is a Christmas Eve party at the Stahlbaum home. A special guest\, Herr Drosselmeyer arrives to charm the children with gifts and magic. Drosselmeyer gives his god-daughter\, Clara\, the special gift of a Nutcracker and a magical dream. As midnight strikes\, Clara falls asleep and dreams of a battle between raging rats\, mischievous mice and steadfast soldiers. The Nutcracker comes to life.
