K-9; TLA & non-TLA Homeschooling students welcome\nCost: $15.00 / student\n\n \n**MINIMUM ENROLMENT: 12 STUDENTS**\nEnrolment deadline: Friday\, APRIL 10th\n \nEnjoy an afternoon of learning about the wonder of nature! Students will have the opportunity to participate in four activities throughout the afternoon: a Grassland Trail Walk\, a Pond Study\, Predators & Prey (Food Web & Animal Anatomy)\, and Orienteering.\n\nWe will take a walk through the grassland ecosystem to learn about grassland plants and animals\, and how they interact. We will also have an opportunity to collect macrobenthic invertebrates and use simple testing to assess dissolved oxygen content\, pH\, turbidity\, and water temperature as a means of learning about the water quality of the Allan Brooks Nature Centre pond. Students will learn about the simple and creative ways Nature Journaling can improve their observation skills\, and students can learn how to build their knowledge as a naturalist. Finally\, students will also be given a clipboard and a navigation tool in an effort to develop orienteering skills.
